Shaina is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Connecticut, as well as a Certified Life Coach. She received her master’s degree from Fordham University in New York and her Life Coach certification from The JRNI Coaching Intensive.

She has experience in outpatient, extended day treatment, psychiatric emergency and in-home settings. In these job settings she has provided and coordinated counseling services to culturally diverse clients who seek support for a broad range of mental health concerns. Shaina also has experience facilitating groups with a special interest in running groups that empower young women in making positive life choices.

Shaina has extensive experience with complex trauma and has training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) and mindfulness, as well as crisis intervention. Shaina has a specialized background in sexual abuse and human trafficking and she also works with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety and attachment disorders, as well as those with post concussive symptoms.

Shaina’s approach is strengths-based and she believes strongly in working with the mind- body connection to ensure all parts of a person’s wellbeing is addressed. She believes strongly in creating individualized healing plans for each client as every person’s strengths and needs vary.

To stay grounded and recharge Shaina spends time in nature, practicing mindfulness and cuddling with her rescue kittens.
